2.7 Million People Receive bad SSA-1099 for 2007

The Social Security Administration has discovered that they made errors on 2.7 million SSA-1099 forms (the form used to report benefits and prpeare tax returns). They have announced that they sent corrected forms on January 25, 2008. Click here to read the details and official release. If you filed before January 25, 2008 and receive a corrected SSA-1099 you may need to file an amended return.
